That's what makes it good, Gary's original videos are a little scary, he seems like he was the one drinking a lot of Monster.
On a separate note, another guy and myself run another blog called Tillamook Rage (named after our bizarre obsession with a short-lived Intel processor called the Tillamook, a name that caused us to laugh like schoolgirls and start a string of quotes such as "I'm a doctor Jim, not a Tillamook!"). We've been helping a school in Swaziland set up a wireless thin client lab via LTSP running a customized combo of Xubuntu and Puppy. We've discussed a separate space to help schools make the switch to FOSS and Linux in the classroom and were planning on approaching the FOSSed community. As someone working in schools, at least I got that jive from your blog, do you think there's enough demand for something like that?
Yeah, they're old PIIs that boot wirelessly and grab images from the server. Unfortunately in Swaziland they only have access to dialup for the server, so their Internet access is very limited, but they can setup networks much easier. We're close to posting the entire setup instructions and files to the blog if you're interested.
That's where Puppy is great, it's small enough to work fairly well over very low bandwidths on slow hardware. Jeremy has done most of the work on that project, I'll let him know.

Hey! Thanks for the shout out. :) Without watching winelibrary.tv, I must admit, my parody is a bit odd... hehehee.
It really is a great parody, I'm not entirely sure how you kept a straight face through most of it.
I take absurdity very seriously... ;)

If you could build a community, yes. Really, that's the key. Maybe start in an informal way, and see if there is interest in those using the setup.
You mention wireless -- do the thin clients actually boot wirelessly?

yes, link me up when it goes live. I'm curious about performance, as wireless tends to... well... suck. :)

Shawn,
We've posted part 1 of the wireless thin clients up at tillamookrage.blogspot.com if you're interested. Part 2 will be up before long.
